Trollhättan is located 80 kilometers north of Gothenburg, a tri-city area with a population of nearly 250,000 people. SAAB Automobile and VOLVO Aero are the major employers in the region. The university is also close to Lake Värnern, one of the biggest lakes in Europe.

The International Program for Politics and Economics (IPPE) is a 3-year bachelor program with courses taught entirely in English. ISEP students are welcome to select a number of individual courses from this program.
